Kim Hamilton always had a passion for serving others in her community. Before joining Globe Life National Income Division (NIL) in 2014, she worked as a cardiac nurse. What drew her to the Company was “control over the trajectory of my career.” She pursued this opportunity because “I enjoy helping people better their lives and the lives of their families. I love being a part of someone's journey.”
Was it the right decision for Kim? Yes, she says. “Our organization's goal is to work with the community to help build legacies. The miracle of renewals allows us to impact so many in positive ways. I want to share that impact with people and help them see what is possible with hard work, dedication, and the right heart.”
“Our products allow families to not worry about when someone passes. The fear of leaving your family with debt is incredibly scary and this company helps alleviate that for our families,” she adds. Her greatest accomplishment with the Company is “being mentored by Durhon Oldham and Brett Gryska. I have been privileged to walk on stage for the company as the Top Category III Regional General Agent in 2021 and served on the inaugural Leadership Council in 2020 and then again in 2021.
“I have been blessed to teach at various leadership schools for home office. And my biggest blessing is the growth I have helped bring the Gryska Organization over my eight years with AIL and NIL,” she says.
What’s Kim’s advice about joining NIL? “Go all in or don't do it at all. If you are going to help protect families, then go and dedicate your time to learning the craft. Say yes to every opportunity to learn and grow. Don't limit yourself to a plan B. If you are going to go into leadership, jump all in, don't try to just tread water. You need to understand every aspect of your position, the position above you and the positions below you.
“When you really embrace all the roles in the Company, you are a better leader because you can understand what each person is dealing with. This allows you to help train better, service better, and develop better,” Kim says.
Don’t worry; growth still leaves room for free time. “I am an avid reader and we love to travel,” Kim says. “I used to be into a lot of crafts, and DIY projects and I like to be with my family. I have a beautiful three-year-old and she keeps me pretty busy with tea parties, story time, and of course dressing up like princesses.”
In her community, she is involved in helping “at my church and my daughter’s school. Also, childhood cancer research has always been something I hold dear to my heart. My first role in a hospital was at City of Hope, a cancer research facility in Southern California. I loved working with the children and helping make their journey a little more enjoyable and less sterile. My parents always have taught me to give to those who are not as fortunate. I was blessed with good health and my goal is to help those who weren’t a little more comfortable,” she says. Her Organization works with the local Ronald McDonald Charities to provide warm meals: “Hopefully we will be able to sponsor more activities as we grow and are blessed with the financial means to make a larger impact,” she adds.
